CATEGORY: Event TYPE: Obituary DATE: 24 Feb 2021 NOTE: Evelyn Shirley Breitkreitz was born to Arthur and Lena {Mauke} Schremser on August 29, 1927 in Webster MA.
She attended schools in Webster MA and graduated from Bartlett High School in 1944.
She met Charles W. Breitkreitz in 1945, and they were married in 1947 at Zion Lutheran Church in Webster MA.
They built their home in Sterling MA and had three children Linda, John, and David. Evelyn enjoyed being a homemaker and as children got older she went to work for Meadowbrook Orchards in Sterling MA. She worked there for 25 years.
Evelyn and Charles enjoyed their summers in New Hampshire and camping across the country, but most of all they enjoyed their family and church. Evelyn was very active in Ladies Guild in MA. After retirement in 1985, Charles and Evelyn moved to Casa Grande AZ to be close to their family.They both became very involved in their church Grace Lutheran Church in Casa Grande.
In 2004, Evelyn’s beloved Charles died after 57 years of marriage. Evelyn’s eldest son John predeceased her in 2018.
She leaves behind her daughter Linda and husband Richard Antonio of Maricopa, son David and wife Cindi Breitkreitz of Tucson, and daughter in-law Dorothy Breitkreitz of Casa Grande. Eight grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.
Celebration of Life will be held at Grace Lutheran Church 1805 E Sierra Pkwy Casa Grande, Arizona, 85122 on Friday, April 16th at 10:00am. Inurnment will follow the service at Valley of the Sun Cemetery 10940 E Chandler Heights Road, Chandler Arizona, 85248 at 1:30pm.
