CHARLTON Marlene A. (Schremser) McGee, 48, of H. Putnam Rd., passed
away suddenly, Tuesday, May 15, 2007 in her home.
She leaves her loving husband of 25 years, Michael J. McGee; her son,
Timothy M. McGee of Charlton; her father, Milton A. Schremser of
Wilsonville, CT; her in-laws, Donald and Claire McGee of Quinebaug,
CT; several nieces and nephews; and her dog "Rex". Marlene was born in
Southbridge, the daughter of Milton A. and the late Doris
E. (Caplette) Schremser, she had been a resident of Charlton for 24 years.
Mrs. McGee was a graduate of Tourtellotte Memorial High School
Tourtellotte Memorial High School, located in North Grosvenordale,
Connecticut was built in the early 20th century. Since then a middle
school and an elementary school have been added. Starting in November
of 2006 the school has started an addition that will be done within
2009. and attended Nichols College The Nichols College sports teams,
known as the Bison (men) and the Lady Bison (women) are the pride of
their hometown of Dudley in Massachusetts.
It was founded in 1815 as Nichols Academy. The founder was Amasa
Nichols, a wealthy industrialist in Dudley, MA. She worked as a home
health care provider for Catholic Charities for 12 years and
previously worked for the former Guaranty Bank & Trust for several
years.
She was a member of Notre Dame
parish in Southbridge. Marlene was an avid country music fan and
loved the Red Sox, but most of all was deeply devoted to her family.
A funeral Mass will be Tuesday, May 22, 2007 at 10:00 A.M in Notre
Dame Church, 446 Main St., Southbridge, burial will be at a later date
in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Webster. Calling hours will be Monday, May 21,
2007 from 6-8 P.M in the Robert J. Miller-Charlton Funeral Home, 175
Old Worcester Rd., in Charlton.
