CATEGORY: Event TYPE: Obituary DATE: 1 Nov 2004 NOTE: WEBSTER –Bernard J. “Bert” Cyr, 88, of Golden Heights Building 6, died unexpectedly Monday, November 1, in UMass Memorial Health Care, Worcester.
He leaves his wife of 64 years, Louise G. (Jackel) Cyr; a son and his wife, Bernard P. and Carol M. Cyr of Dudley; 3 sisters, Rita Kania of Pomfret, Charlotte Galvin of Thompson, and Margaret Marrier of Webster; a granddaughter, Kelly Cyr of South Grafton; many nephews and nieces. Four brothers and three sisters predeceased him.
He was born in Webster, the oldest son of Henry and Stasia (Taberski) Cyr, and lived here all his life.
Mr. Cyr was a machine operator at Cranston Print Works Company for 43 years, retiring in 1982.He was a member of Saint Joseph Basilica. He enjoyed hunting and fresh, salt water and ice fishing.
The funeral will be held Thursday, November 4, from the Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School Street, with a Mass at 10:30 AM in Saint Joseph Basilica, 53 Whitcomb Street. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery. Calling hours are from 6:00 to 9:00 PM Wednesday, November 3, at the funeral home.
