WEBSTER - Bernard O. Gelineau Sr., 65, of Laurelwood Drive died yesterday in Hubbard Regional Hospital, after being stricken ill Monday.
He leaves his wife, Dorothy (Antkowiak) Gelineau; a son, Bernard O. Gelineau Jr. of Thompson; two daughters, Theresa Laabs of Webster and Elaine Berthiaume of Thompson; his mother, Yvonne Henault of Webster; a brother, George Henault of Webster; eight grandchildren; a great-grandson; nieces and nephews.
Mr. Gelineau was born in Webster and was a lifelong resident. He was a superintendent at B/W Footwear Co. for 19 years and later was a machinist at Numa Tool Co. in Thompson, retiring in 1987. He was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church and was a lector at the church. He was a lifetime member of Webster Elks Lodge 1466, exalted ruler of the Webster Lodge in 1968 and was Elks district deputy in 1975. He was also a member of Webster-Dudley American Legion Post 184. He was a World War II Navy veteran. He was a founder of the St. Joseph's School Fund.
The funeral will be tomorrow from Bartel Funeral Home, 33 Schofield Ave., Dudley, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church, 53 Whitcomb St. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today. Instead of flowers, the family suggests donations to the St. Joseph's School Fund, 53 Whitcomb St.
