WEBSTER -- Louise E. (Schremser) Mattila, 84, of 27 Arkwright Road, died Saturday, March 22, in Webster Manor after a short illness.
Her husband of 53 years, Leo O. Mattila, died in 1994. She leaves two sons, Gary G. Mattila of Laconia, N.H., and Richard L. Mattila of Hull; three brothers, Edmund and Harold Schremser, both of Oxford and Wesley Schremser of Webster; three sisters, Helen McGovern and Gertrude Bayer, both of Webster and Dorothy Gallagher of Philadelphia; two grandchildren; nephews and nieces. Many brothers and sisters predeceased her. She was born in Webster, daughter of Louis and Lena (Redlitz) Schremser.
Mrs. Mattila worked for the former Webster Shoe Co., retiring in 1969. She was an original member of Emanuel Lutheran Church, and enjoyed music and sewing.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 25, in Emanuel Lutheran Church, 7 First St. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery. A calling hour will be 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 25, in Scanlon Funeral Home, East Main Street. Donations may be made to Emanuel Lutheran Church, 7 First St., Webster, MA 01570. PLAC: Webster, MA
