NOTE: Wesley W. "Wes" Schremser, 78, of 14 Elaine St., died Wednesday, Nov. 30, in the Transitional Care Unit at Hubbard Regional Hospital after an illness.

He leaves his wife of 50 years, Emma M. (Kilian) Schremser; two daughters, Laurie J. Condos and her husband George of Falmouth, and Jeri-Lynn Berlin and her husband Jonas of Hopkinton; a brother, Harold Schremser of Oxford; two sisters, Helen McGovern and Gertrude Bayer, both of Webster; four deeply loved grandchildren, Elizabeth and Emily Condos, and Kent and Erik Berlin; and many close nephews and nieces.

He was born in Webster, a son of Louis and Lena (Redlitz) Schremser, and was a lifelong resident. He graduated from Bartlett High School in 1945.

He was a Navy veteran of World War II.

Mr. Schremser worked as a stationary engineer at the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester for several years before retiring in 1992.

He was a lifelong member of the former Emanuel Lutheran Church and was the bell ringer there for many years. He recently joined Zion Lutheran Church in Oxford.

The funeral, with full military honors, will be held Friday, Dec. 2, from Scanlon Funeral Service, East Main St., with a service at 11:00 AM in Zion Lutheran Church, 70 South Main St., Oxford. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 9:00 to 10:20 AM Friday, Dec. 2, at the funeral home. The family suggests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be given to Zion Lutheran Church Outdoor Chapel, 70 South Main Street, Oxford, MA 01540.
