He leaves a brother, Paul A. Hoenig and his wife Judith of Thompson; 2 nephews, Matthew Hoenig of Thompson and Timothy Hoenig with the U.S. Coast Guard; one uncle, Conrad Redlitz; 3 aunts, Elmira Surozenski, Anna Steele and Elaine Krommer; and many cousins.
He was born in Worcester, the son of Andrew F. and Gretchen M. (Redlitz) Hoenig and lived in Thompson most of his life. He graduated from Marianapolis Preparatory School in 1980 and attended Syracuse University.
Tommy worked as a chef at the Colonial Restaurant and Pub in Webster, and then at Colonial Caterers before retiring due to illness.
He was a member of Saint Louis Church in Webster, MA. He enjoyed golfing, snow skiing, visiting the cottage at Lake Alexander and spending time with his friends and their families. He loved his trips to Florida and especially to Disneyworld.
A memorial Mass will be held Monday, April 20, at 10:00 AM in Saint Louis Church, 14 Lake Street, Webster, MA. Burial will be private. There are no calling hours. Donations in his name may be made to either the Hospice of Northeastern CT, 320 Pomfret Street, Putnam, CT 06260 or to Saint Louis School Endowment Fund, 15 Lake St. Webster, MA 01570. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main Street, Webster, MA.
