THOMPSON - John C. Kleinknecht, 69, of 39 Watson Road, Quinebaug, formerly of Webster, died Wednesday in Webster Manor Care Facility, Webster, after an illness.
He leaves his wife of 33 years, Dorothy R. (Martin) Kleinknecht; a son, Jeffrey J. Kleinknecht of Elsinore, Calif.; a brother, Malcolm Kleinknecht of Clinton; two sisters, Esther Lehman of Miami, Fla., and Alfrieda Devish of Webster; nephews and nieces. He was born in Webster, son of John C. and Olga (Thiede) Kleinknecht, and lived there many years. He lived 21 years in Quinebaug.
Mr. Kleinknecht was a foreman at American Optical Corp. in Southbridge, where he worked for more than 30 years before retiring. He was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church in Webster.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in Emanuel Lutheran Church, 7 First St., Webster. The Rev. Cathy Ammlung will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery, Webster. Calling hours at Robert J. Miller Funeral Home, 366 School St., Webster, are 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday. Memorial contributions may be made to Emanuel Lutheran Church, 7 First St., Webster, 01570.
