CATEGORY: Event TYPE: Obituary DATE: 22 Jan 2009 NOTE: Edna E. (Weinert) Nourse Edna E. (Weinert) Nourse, 83, of Northborough, died Wednesday, January 21, 2009 in Bolton Nursing Home in Marlborough following a long illness.
Edna's husband of 59 years, Roland G. Nourse, died in 2007. She is survived by her son, Brian C. Nourse and his wife, Terry of Lancaster and her daughter, Lynne J. Ferro and her husband Thomas of Northborough; four grandchildren and five great grandchildren; as well as nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Arthur Weinert. Born and raised in Webster, Edna was the daughter of the late Charles J. and Eugenia H. (Redlitz) Weinert. She was a resident of Northborough for over fifty years.
Edna graduated from Bartlett High School in Webster. She worked at Unican as an Assistant Chemist for over 10 years. Prior to that, she worked at Hebert Candy Mansion in Shrewsbury. Edna was a member of the Eastern Star Clara Barton Chapter #63. In her earlier years, Edna enjoyed camping with her family. She was a member of Trinity Church.
A funeral service will held Saturday, January 24, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. in Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main Street (Rte. 20), Northborough. Burial will follow in Howard Street Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Friday, January 23, 2009 in Hays Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Edna's name to: Alzheimer's Association, 919 North Michigan Avenue, Chicago, IL 60611.
