CATEGORY: Event TYPE: Obituary DATE: 25 Jun 2007 NOTE: Edith L. (Moir) Piehl, 84, of Meadow View Drive, passed away Monday, June 25, 2007 in UMass/Memorial Hospital, University Campus, Worcester. Her husband of 42 years, Paul E. Piehl died in 1990.
She leaves two sons, Douglas A. Piehl and his wife Theresa, and Michael P. Piehl and his wife Debra of Charlton; one daughter, Susan D. Prunier and her husband Henry of Brimfield; 7 grandchildren, 1 great-granddaughter and many nieces and nephews.
Edith was born in Dudley daughter of Peter and Ada (Fitts) Moir and lived in Charlton most of her life. She worked at the former Dresser Hill Dairy for many years in the office and also worked in the dairy stand.
Edith was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Sturbridge. She was a past member of the Charlton School Committee and was a member of the Charlton Senior Center. Her interests were reading, playing cards and being a Red Sox fan, and she was very civic minded.
The funeral will be Thursday, June 28, 2007 at 10:00 A.M in the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 345 Main St., Sturbridge, burial will be in West Ridge Cemetery, Charlton.
Calling hours for Edith will be Wednesday, June 27, 2007 from 5-8 P.M at the Robert J. Miller-Charlton Funeral Home, 175 Old Worcester Rd., Charlton.
