She leaves her husband of 39 years, Bernard P. Cyr; a daughter, Kelly A. Cyr and her husband John A. Scarlett of Sutton; a brother, Bob Miller and his wife Maureen of North Carolina and Loretta Miller and her husband Mike of Groton, CT; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister Gloria O'Connell and by her brother Tom Miller.
She was born and raised in Bristol, CT, the daughter of Emil and Margaret (Krampitz) Miller. She graduated from Bristol High School in 1958. She attended Concordia College in Bronxville, NY and earned her Bachelor's Degree from Concordia's River Forest (IL) campus in 1962. She moved to Webster when she married in 1971 and then to Dudley around 1975.
Mrs. Cyr was a first, second and third grade teacher in the Oxford School System where she worked for 39 years before retiring in 2002.
She was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church in Oxford and once served as the financial secretary there. She enjoyed flower gardening and bird watching. She was a devoted fan of the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots.
The funeral will be held Wednesday, July 2, at 11:00 AM in Zion Lutheran Church, 70 S. Main St., Oxford. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery, Webster. Calling hours will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Tuesday, July 1, in the Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School St., Webster.
