CATEGORY: Event TYPE: Obituary NOTE: Helen M. Forsberg, 81, died November 17, 2008 at Kent Hospital surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of Clifford B. Forsberg. Mr. and Mrs. Forsberg celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on July 31, 2008.
She was the devoted mother to her four daughters, Leslie J. Brown of Charlestown, Susan A. Forsberg of Cranston, Rev. Linda R. Forsberg and her husband, Theodore M. Gibbons, of Newport and Lisa E. Forsberg Ley and her husband, George, of Westerly. She was the beloved sister of Ann Meyer and her husband, Ray, of Cranston and of the late Frederick ?Fritz? Stamp, Hermine Just, Ruth Stamp and Karen DeSantis. She was the devoted grandmother to her eight grandchildren, Ted A. Brown and his wife, Susan Lloyd, John T. Bosco and his wife, Nicolette, David T. Bosco, Zachary, Victoria and Juliana Forsberg-Lary and Kyle and Brittany Forsberg Ley. She is also survived by her beloved nieces and nephews.
Born in Johnston, a daughter of the late Michael and Hermine (Mueller) Stamp, she lived in Cranston most of her life. She served as class secretary for the Mount Pleasant High School Class of 1945. She was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church, East Greenwich, where her daughter Linda is the pastor and was a former member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Providence. She was a former member of the Bonnet Shores Beach Club.
Her funeral service was held Nov. 21 in First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 124 Division St., East Greenwich. Burial was in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston.
