WORCESTER Mrs. Olga (Bollus) Batbouta, 85, passed away Friday May 20th, 2011 at UMass Memorial Hospital.
Olga is survived by two sons, Dr. John Batbouta and his wife Lois of Shrewsbury, David Batbouta and his wife Ellen of Hollis, N.H., two daughters, Paula Mariani and her husband Dr. Eugene Mariani of Shrewsbury, Linda Chelio and her husband George of Worcester; she also leaves thirteen grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Olga was pre-deceased by her siblings, Mary Esper, Alice Najemy, Effie Haywood, and Abraham Bollus.
Born May 1, 1926 in Worcester, Massachusetts she was a daughter of the late Namey A. and Martha (Bogannom) Bollus and loving wife to the late John Batbouta.
A lifelong resident of Worcester, Olga was a graduate of Commerce High School and Salters College where she majored in accounting. She worked as an accountant for many years for Eddy's Floor Covering and most recently prior to her retirement at Attorney Howard Potash's office.
She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church where she was active in church activities, the Bingo, the annual picnic, and the Ladies Sodality.
Olga and her husband John were bestowed the Cross of Jerusalem by the patriarch in June of 1968 for their dedication, service and commitment to their church.
She also served as President of the Residents Association at the Chadwick Street Colony III Retirement Home where she resided.
Family and friends will be received on Wednesday May 25th at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 256 Hamilton St. Worcester, Ma. 01604 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm. Her funeral service will be Thursday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church at 10:00am. Burial will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery.
