CATEGORY: Event TYPE: Obituary DATE: 14 Dec 2012 NOTE: Ruth B. (Henry) Stamp, 98, died Friday Dec. 14, 2012, in the South Kingstown Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, West Kingston.
She was the wife of the late William M. Stamp Sr., and had been a resident of Wakefield for several years, previously living in Cranston. Mrs. Stamp was born in Cranston, a daughter of the late Elmer B. and Martha B. (Mooers) Henry.
She had been co-owner with her husband of Stamp Farms in Cranston for many years and was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Smithfield. She was a very active Grange member of the Subordinate, Pomona-Providence County, Oaklawn, Rhode Island State and National Grange, and was the oldest and longest living Grange member in Rhode Island.
Mrs. Stamp is survived by her son, William M. Stamp Jr,. and his wife, Carol, of Exeter; daughter Martha A. Stamp, of Wakefield; five grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and a nephew, David Henry and his wife Linda. She was the sister of the late Charles Henry, great-grandmother of the late Cassandra Duncan and aunt of the late Marshall Henry.
Funeral service will be Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2012, at 10 a.m. in the Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Cedar Swamp Road, Smithfield. Visiting hours are Tuesday 4-7 p.m. in the Fagan-Quinn Funeral Home, 825 Boston Neck Road, North Kingstown. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston.
