DONNA M. AMEEN-GENTILI, 48, of Wilton Avenue, a first-grade teacher at Potter-Burns Elementary School for 12 years until her illness last June, died yesterday at home.
Born in Pawtucket, she was a daughter of Edward and Helen E. (Monsur) Ameen of Pawtucket. Mrs. Ameen-Gentili had been a third-grade teacher at Nathanael Greene Elementary School for 15 years.
She was a 1971 graduate of Rhode Island College, where she received a master's degree in education in 1975. She was a member of the Pawtucket Teachers Alliance and the Potter-Burns PTO. She was a communicant of St. Teresa Church and a member of its choir.
Besides her parents, she leaves a daughter, Lisa A. Gentili, at home; a sister, Shirley A. McLaughlin of Cumberland; and three brothers, Edward M. Ameen of Pawtucket, Robert J. Ameen of Providence and John D. Ameen of Coral Springs, Fla.
The funeral will be held Thursday at 8:45 a.m. from the William W. Tripp Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 at St. Teresa Church, 358 Newport Ave. Burial will be in Mount St. Mary Cemetery, Prospect Street.
