ADEEB AMEEN, 77, of 169 Wamsutta St., a troubleshooter for the Newport Naval Base for 20 years before retiring in 1976, died Thursday at Charlton Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Lillian M. (Shaheen) Ameen.
A lifelong Fall River resident, he was a son of the late Zahren and Hanna (Eid) Ameen. He was a communicant of St. Anthony of the Desert Church.
A World War II Army veteran, he was a member of American Legion Post 314 and the former Lebanese American Veterans Club.
An avid sportsman, he was a lifelong member of the Fall River Rod and Gun Club. He was a member of the original "Rough Riders" football team of Fall River.
Besides his wife he leaves two daughters, Helen Collins of Fall River and Ann Marie Dostou of Somerset; and three sisters, Victoria Camara and Jennie Nassiff, both of Fall River, and Evelyn Asea of Port Charlotte, Fla. He was the brother of the late Assad, Chickeeb and Philip Ameen.
The funeral service will be held Monday at 9 a.m. from the "Cherry Place" Home of Waring-Ashton and Coughlin-D.D. Sullivan-Driscoll, 178 Winter St., with a Funeral Mass at 10 in St. Anthony of the Desert Church, 300 Eastern Ave. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. PLAC: Fall River, MA
