Chiceeb J. "Chick" Ameen, 77, of 169 Wamsutta St. died Friday at St. Anne's Hospital.
Born in Fall River, he was a son of the late Zahren and Hannah Ferris (Eid) Ameen.
Mr. Ameen was a sign painter for more the 30 years. He worked for F.L. Tripps, Westport, for 25 years, and was previously a screen designer for the former Davis Screen Co., Fall River, for many years.
He was a communicant of St. Anthony of the Desert Church. He was a member of the Fall River Rod & Gun Club. He was a member of the East End Sportsmen Club, and the Westport Fishermen's Association. In 1984, he was awarded the Romeo Ross Greenwing Award from the Bristol County "Ducks Unlimited" for his outstanding participation in many activities including the "Take a Kid Fishing" program, which he helped form and participated in for many years. He was involved with hunting beagles, and in many Fish and Game Department studies. He was active in many conservation programs from the Old Fish Stocking Program from North Watuppa to South Watuppa, to releasing Canada hare and quail in this area.
Mr. Ameen leaves a brother, Adeeb Ameen of Fall River, and three sisters, Victoria Camara, Jennie Nassiff, both of Fall River, and Evelyn Asea of Port Charlotte, Fla.
The funeral will be held tomorrow at 9 a.m. from the "Cherry Place" Home of Waring-Ashton & Coughlin-D.D. Sullivan-Driscoll, 178 Winter St., with a funeral Mass at 10 at St. Anthony of the Desert Church, North Eastern Avenue. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. PLAC: Fall River, MA
