NOTE: WEBSTER - Ruth E. (Kindler) Lapierre, 84, of Logansport, Ind., formerly of Webster, a retired bookkeeper, died yesterday in Miller's Merry Manor in Logansport, Ind., after an illness.
Her husband of 35 years, Leo R. Lapierre, died in 1974. She leaves a son, David Lapierre of Longansport; a brother, Ralph Kindler in New Hampshire; two sisters, Barbara Bayer of Thompson and Lois Barker of San Jose, Calif.; two grandchildren and a great-grandson. She was predeceased by two brothers, Ernest and Harold Kindler; and a sister, Joan Sampson Peckham. She was born in Webster, daughter of Otto and Lilla (Wheelock) Kindler.
Mrs. Lapierre was a bookkeeper for Kindler Plumbing and then for Logansport Public Library.
She was a member of St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church, Logansport, and a former member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Oxford. She was also a member of the Mary Martha Guild and the Lutheran Women's Missionary League, both in Logansport.
A funeral service will be at 2 p.m. tomorrow in St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church, Logansport. Another funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, 70 South Main St., Oxford. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery. A calling hour is 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church, Memorial Fund, 430 Ninth St., Logansport, IN 46947. Kroeger Funeral Home is directing arrangements in Indiana and Bartel Funeral Home, 33 Schofield Ave., Dudley, is directing local arrangements.
