WILLIAM P. AMEEN, 72, of McCabe Avenue, a produce manager for the A & P Co. for 35 years, and also an employee of the Fram Allied Signal Division, East Providence, for 10 years before retiring in 1988, died Friday at the Landmark Medical Center-Woonsocket Unit. He was the husband of the late Matilda (Macksoud) Ameen.
Born in Fall River, Mass., a son of the late Nakiey and Nabiha (Babouta) Ameen, he lived in Pawtucket most of his life.
Mr. Ameen served in the Eighth Air Force during World War II. He was a member of the AARP, and the Johnston Senior Citizens.
He leaves two daughters, Lois A. Genereux of Pawtucket, and Evelyn L. Soave of North Providence; three brothers, Edward, George Ameen, both of Pawtucket, Raymond Ameen in Hawaii, and five grandchildren. He was brother of the late Freda Gamel, and Emily Mardo.
The funeral will be held tomorrow at 10 a.m. from The Prata Home, 372 Broadway, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 at Sacred Heart Church, Park Street. Burial will be in St. Basil Cemetery, Cumberland.
