Besides his wife, he leaves three sons, Edward M. Ameen Jr. of Pawtucket, Robert J. Ameen of Providence and John D. Ameen of Parkland, Fla.; a daughter, Shirley A. Mclaughlin of Cumberland; 12 grandchildren; and 19 nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Donna M. Gentili, and brother of the late Freda Gamel, Emily Mardo, and William, George and Raymond Ameen.
