OXFORD - Arthur O. Schremser, 90, of 23 Wheelock St., died yesterday in Hubbard Regional Hospital, Webster.
He leaves his wife, Mildred A. (McKenna) Henshall Schremser; a son, Milton A. Schremser of North Grosvenordale; a daughter, Evelyn Breitkreitz of Casa Grande, Ariz.; two brothers, Albert Schremser of Daytona, Fla., and George Schremser of Webster; five sisters, Clarie Boerner of Philadelphia, Pa., Dorothy Gallagher of Daytona, Alice Brooks of Webster, Emily Gardner of Dudley and Betty LaMountain in California; four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. He was born in Philadelphia, son of Louis and Hattie (Schur) Schremser, and lived in this area most of his life.
Mr. Schremser worked for more than 40 years at the former Bates Shoe Co. in Webster, retiring in 1970. He was a member and past deacon at the Zion Lutheran Church, a member and the first president of the Golden Age Club of Oxford, and a member of the Council on Aging and the Tennants Association at the Huguenot Arms.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. tomorrow at Zion Lutheran Church, 70 South Main St., with the Rev. Steven I. Goetsch officiating. Cremation will be in Rural Crematory, Worcester. Burial will be at the family's convenience in Mount Zion Cemetery, Webster. There are no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to the Zion Lutheran Church, 70 South Main St., Oxford, 01540. The Robert J. Miller Funeral Home, 247 Main St., is directing arrangements.
