OXFORD - Albert E. Schremser, 88, of Daytona Beach, Fla., formerly of Oxford, died Tuesday in Daytona Beach Hospital.
His wife, Abbie Schremser, died in 1988. He leaves a brother, George Schremser; five sisters, Emily Gardner and Alice Brooks, all of Webster, Dorothy Gallagher of Daytona Beach, Claire Boerner of Philadelphia, and Betty LaMountain in California; a half-sister, Louise Mattila of Webster; four half-brothers, Harold and Edmund Schremser, both of Oxford, and Eugene and Wesley Schremser, both of Webster; three stepsisters; nephews and nieces.
He was born in Oxford, a son of Louis and Hattie Schremser, and lived here more than 60 years before moving to Florida 15 years ago. Mr. Schremser worked more than 42 years for Brink's Inc. in Worcester.
He was a former selectmen and police officer in Oxford, and a former member of the Oxford Cemetery Department, Oxford Lodge of Masons and Lions Club.
A private graveside service will be in North Cemetery at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Emanuel Lutheran Church, 7 First St., Webster 01570 or to the American Cancer Society, 7 Oak St., Worcester 01609. Robert J. Miller Funeral Home, 247 Main St., is directing arrangements. PLAC: Oxford, MA
