WEBSTER - George F. Schremser, 89, of 315 School St. died yesterday
in Oakwood Rehabilitation and Convalescent Center after an illness.
He leaves two daughter, Judith L. Rudzinski of Webster and Gail A.
Milliard of Oxford; two sisters, Claire Boerner and Dorothy Gallagher,
both of Philadelphia; four half-brothers, Eugene Schremser, Harold
Schremser, Wesley Schremser, all of Webster, and Edmund Schremser of
Oxford; a half-sister, Louise Mattila of Webster; three step-sisters,
Gertrude Bayer and Helen McGovern, both of Webster, and Martha Rogers
of Framingham; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; nephews and
nieces.
He was born in Oxford, son of Louis and Hattie (Schur)
Schremser, and lived in Webster most of his life.
Mr. Schremser worked in the maintenance department at Webster Lens
Company for 10 years, retiring in 1955. Prior to that, he was a
self-employed mason and also did masonry work for several construction
companies. He was once a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church and helped
construct the steps into the church.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Mount Zion
Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be
made to Visiting Nurse Association of Southern Worcester County,
Development Office, PO 368, Webster 01570. Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral
Home, 340 School St., is directing arrangements.
