WEBSTER - Emily (Schremser) Gardner, 83, of 64 Chase Ave., a retired shoe worker, died Sunday at St. Vincent Hospital, Worcester.
Her husband, Hector U. Gardner, died in 1978. She leaves her companion, Clarence E. "Stoney" Stone, with whom she lived; three sons, Gerald A. Gardner of Dudley, Roger "Butch" Gardner of Webster and Douglas N. Gardner of Putnam; two daughters, Patricia A. Sortwell and Dorothy E. Gelineau, both of Dudley; two stepsons, Walter Gardner of Leicester and Robert Gardner of Spencer; 16 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces. She was born in Auburn, daughter of Louis and Hattie (Schur) Schremser, and lived here most of her life.
She worked at B & W Footwear Co. before she retired.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. tomorrow from Shaw-Majercik Funeral Home, 48 School St., with a graveside service in Mount Zion Cemetery. Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
